Report: James Harden suspended for kick

James Harden greatly enhanced his MVP credentials after an impressive performance against LeBron James, during the Houston Rockets hard fought win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. Harden dropped 33 points and pulled down eight rebounds, whilst dishing out five assists and registering two blocks as the Rockets won 105-103.

Unfortunately for Harden, he will be forced to sit as the Rockets head to Atlanta on Tuesday. During Sunday’s game, after a controversial moment during the third quarter. After falling to the ground, Harden lifted his foot and grazed James in the groin region. The incident can be seen below.

At the time, officials ruled the contact as incidental. It was announced today, that the NBA assessed the foul. The league ruled Harden was unsportsmanlike and reclassified the contact as an intentional flagrant foul two, which means he will serve a one game suspension.

Harden is averaging 27.1 ppg, 7 apg and 6 rpg this season.
